Description
Goat willow (salix caprea) also known as pussy willow because of its abundance of catkin flowers in early spring. Goat willow os a pioneer tree especially on wet ground. It will spread on waste ground fast. It is one of our Native trees and host many types of wildlife. It is fast growing and coppices well and could make a good firewood crop. It is good tree for rewilding project and managing wetlands. Tradionally used in harp making.
